Mountain Rhythm background

Mountain Rhythm

A group of mischievous students from a nearby boys' school wreak havoc on a California farm's new owners, prompting a series of chaotic events.

The Weaver family, consisting of Abner, Elviry, and their daughters Linda and Fannibelle, along with Abner's brother Cicero, leave their Missouri home to help with the war effort by harvesting crops on the West Coast. They buy a farm owned by a Japanese family and face friction with the snobbish students from a nearby prep school who look down on farmers. The Weavers struggle to harvest their crops due to the students' mischief, but they devise a plan to enlist the students' help by participating in a War Bond-selling contest. If they sell more bonds, the students will help with the harvest; if the students win, the melon patch will be turned over to the school for a polo field. Unbeknownst to the Weavers, the school's headmaster is a Nazi agent seeking to create class divisions.
