A retired man seizes the chance to rectify a long-standing grievance when he meets an enigmatic German outsider, whose true intentions may be shrouded in darkness.
Jacob Kaplan, a 76-year-old man who fled Europe for Uruguay during WWII, starts to doubt his life's purpose. When he discovers a suspicious German on a nearby beach, he becomes convinced it's a Nazi in hiding and decides to expose him.
