Two friends, slacker Manhattanites, aim to document their lives on film, but their lack of filmmaking expertise hinders their progress. Despite scoring meetings with producers, courtesy of a friend in the industry, they fail to impress. However, things take a turn for the better when Phoebe Cates and Martha Plimpton agree to star in their movie. Unfortunately, the actresses soon leave for other projects, leaving the friends feeling defeated and their friendship on the brink.
