In this humorous tale, a ordinary boy named Max struggles to fit in at school, but his life takes an unexpected turn when a statue transforms him into a monster during a field trip. After being captured by a historian named Synder, Max and his sister escape and use their newfound powers to disrupt their brother Rod's date. The chaos ensues when the monster scares Rod's date's poodle at a dog show, prompting the family to take the dog to a low-cost salon where it's stolen and entered into the competition by the salon owner. With Rod's timely intervention, the thieves are apprehended and sent to jail. In a surprising twist, Max is restored to his human form and, in a final act, begs the statue to reverse its magic, only for the historian Synder to gain the monster's powers instead.
