Neshoba background

Neshoba

The film NESHOBA takes place in a Mississippi town still grappling with the devastating consequences of the brutal murders of James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner, which occurred four decades earlier. The community is compelled to address the thorny issue of justice.

Mississippi town still divided about justice 40 years after civil rights workers' murders. No one was held accountable until 2005, when 80-year-old preacher Edgar Ray Killen was indicted. The film explores whether healing and reconciliation are possible without telling the truth through interviews with victims' families and local citizens.
