Musa, a 13-year-old shoe shiner, lives in the midst of World War II, where he meets Yumna and joins Captain Yoshimura's mission to help Indonesia gain freedom. Despite his young age, Musa is physically a teenager but mentally a hero, choosing to become a courier delivering secret letters about the war strategy. With these letters, Musa and Yumna inspire the youths of Surabaya to fight against the allied forces, armed only with bamboo spears, and surprisingly win the war against the Dutch government's modern weapons.
