Nate Poole, a former trumpet player, has a one-night stand with the wife of a powerful mobster, Happy Shannon. After being kidnapped and saved by Indians, Nate meets a beautiful woman with wings, Lily Luster, at a sideshow. He invites her to move with him to Reno, but their plans are disrupted when Sam, the sideshow owner, tries to kill Nate with a snake. Lily rescues Nate and they head to Reno, where Nate plots to raise money by offering Lily to Happy. However, Nate falls in love with Lily and decides to call off the agreement. When Happy abducts Lily, Nate sets out to rescue her from the mobster's fortress.
