Four engineers, Aaron, Abe, Robert, and Phillip, work on a top-secret project in Aaron's garage. Aaron and Abe are the primary contributors, using their free time to overcome numerous engineering challenges. During a test, Abe discovers that the invention can be used as a time machine, not a protein super incubator, after he uses it on himself. He's careful not to interfere with his own timeline. Abe shares the breakthrough with Aaron, but asks him to keep it a secret from their colleagues and Aaron's wife, Kara. However, Aaron decides to keep the discovery solely between them, moving the project to a locked storage unit. He plans to use the time machine to gain an edge in the stock market by knowing future events. With two perspectives on the project, Aaron and Abe face logistical and philosophical dilemmas about how to proceed.
