In 18th century Algiers, Captain Ahmed, a guard of the Emir, and Princess Nadja are abducted by Bedouins, who are secretly working for Grand Vizier Firous. Firous plans to pose as Nadja's savior. However, Nadja and Ahmed manage to escape and take refuge in the Casbah, a sanctuary for outcasts. Ahmed pulls off a daring heist, stealing from the palace treasury, but Firous retaliates by leading his troops in an assault on the Casbah.
