In suburban Phoenix, Ruth, a 40-year-old donut shop employee with anger issues, is struggling to find purpose. Desperate for money, Ruth steals the body of President James Buchanan, hoping to ransom him, but no one seems interested. As she navigates dead ends and misadventures with her roommates and probation officer, Ruth must tap into her resourcefulness to resolve the dire situation.
