In feudal Japan, a warlord decides to retire and divide his territory among his three sons. Two of his sons agree with the decision, but the youngest son disagrees, predicting that the brothers will not remain united. The warlord banishes the youngest son, but soon realizes that his other two sons are selfish and do not intend to keep their promises. The warlord is left to fend for himself, and the only one who can save him is the banished son.
