A teenager stumbles upon a hidden pterodactyl on a secluded island, revealing a previously thought extinct species and unraveling the mystery of its enduring existence.

A 15-year-old boy helps find a believed extinct bird, the Cahow, on a Bermuda island, teaching humanity a lesson in perseverance. Threatened by development and pesticides, the bird faces extinction, but the boy and his successor work to save it from oblivion, including a challenge from global warming after a hurricane.
