A South African Parliament member, Alex Mpondo, struggles to reconcile his painful past as a political activist, haunted by the trauma of his torture and seeking redemption for the injustices he faced.

A South African lawyer returns to her hometown to represent a Parliament member seeking amnesty for his torture at the hands of a police officer. She also takes on the case of a missing man arrested with the Parliament member, and the truth about their imprisonment begins to unravel.
