Reflections in a Golden Eye

Major Weldon Penderton, stationed in the American south, is struggling with his marriage to his wife Leonora. He's a solitary man trying to boost his self-image, fearing he's not adequate as a man or a Major. Meanwhile, Leonora is having an affair with their neighbor, Lieutenant Colonel Morris Langdon, while maintaining a facade of being a perfect officer's wife. The story revolves around the complex emotions and desires of the characters, including Private L.G. Williams, who becomes fixated on Leonora, and the question of what actions they will take based on their emotions.
