Two survivors of the HMS Aylesbury, sunk by the German raider Essen, are rescued by the damaged German ship. As the Germans seek refuge in a secluded harbour to repair their vessel, one of the prisoners makes a desperate attempt to hinder the repairs, hoping to give the Royal Navy time to track down and destroy the ship.
