A seasoned army trainer rises through the ranks to command a notorious prison, only to discover an unlikely attraction to the sister of a notorious inmate.
Jameson, a former Army officer, becomes a prison guard at San Quentin and starts dating May, whose brother Joe is newly incarcerated for robbery. As Jameson tries to keep the peace among the prisoners, Hansen, a troublemaker, manipulates Joe by revealing Jameson's interest in May.
