Arthur Hamilton, a middle-aged banker, gets a chance to start anew when his supposed-dead friend Charlie reaches out. He's introduced to a firm that can fake his death and give him a fresh start. After surgery, training, and therapy, Hamilton becomes Tony Wilson, an artist living in Malibu with a manservant. However, his new life isn't as perfect as he hoped, and he asks the company to alter his identity, leading to unexpected consequences.
