A young scientist, Harrison, is obsessed with using lizard DNA to regenerate dead tissue, potentially curing cancer and regrowing lost limbs. However, his manipulative mother and her boyfriend plan to steal his research and sell it as their own, leading to a tragic argument that results in Harrison losing his arm. He injects himself with his regeneration serum, but the new scaly limb develops a mind of its own. Seeking help, Harrison finds shelter with a group of homeless war veterans and uses his serum to try and get their assistance in reclaiming his research.
