Martin Ashley, a former psychiatric patient, is released from an institution and works as a gardener and chauffeur for a wealthy woman in Beverly Hills. After killing his employer and being deemed insane, Ashley is returned to his former institution. Meanwhile, Harley Manning, the estate's executor, hires an actor to feign insanity and find out where Ashley stashed a million dollars that was supposedly burned.
