Shooting Dogs background

Shooting Dogs

Two strangers, a Catholic priest and an English teacher, forge an unlikely alliance as they take refuge in a Kigali school during the 1994 Rwandan genocide, navigating the treacherous landscape of ethnic violence and moral crisis.

When the Rwandan president's plane is shot down in April 1994, Hutu militias brutally slaughter the Tutsi population. In a besieged school, a Catholic priest and an idealistic teacher shelter over 2,500 refugees under the protection of Belgian UN forces, only to see them brutally murdered when the UN abandons them to the mercy of extremist Hutu militia.
