In this movie, Jimmy Wakely and "Cannonball" stumble upon the body of Don Muquel, who was murdered and robbed by henchmen Ramsay and Sturgis. As Jimmy is accused of the crime, his friend Don Esteban's uncle clears his name. However, tensions rise as Jose accuses the settlers, led by John Chambers, of stealing land from native Californians through murder and theft. The truth is revealed when it's discovered that surveyor Willard Jackson is creating fake land-grant papers, leading to a complex web of deceit and betrayal.
