A police investigation leads to the discovery of a murdered hostess, Helen Howard, whose body was disposed of by racketeer Nick Mantee. The police inform her family of her death, and her sister Nancy signs with the Mercer Agency, a training program for girls who work as hostesses at the Bluejay Club, where Helen was last seen. As Nancy becomes a hostess, she uncovers evidence that places Helen at the club on the night of her murder, accusing Nick and Benny, two mobsters, of the crime.
