Captain Yamanada orders the Japanese aircraft carrier "Hiranamu" to steam ahead for Pearl Harbor, encountering and sinking an American yacht along the way. The sole survivor, Sue Curry, is rescued by an American submarine, the "Sea Serpent", commanded by Commander Chris Warren. Despite efforts to radio a warning to Pearl Harbor, their signals are jammed and the sub is targeted by the Japanese. The next morning, the crew of the "Sea Serpent" learns of the Pearl Harbor bombing and concocts a plan to sink the Japanese carrier by revealing their position.
