Jennie Jones, a naive young woman, inherits $1,000 and uses it to buy a retired race horse named Firefly in the big city. She enlists the help of two horse racing gamblers, Tip and Jinx, to buy Firefly, but unknowingly, they're broke shysters who plan to use her and her inheritance to pay off their debts. Complications arise as Tip and Jinx try to pull off various schemes, and Jennie's fortunes change.
