A small town preacher's daughter, Sarah, begins her college journey in the big city to study journalism. Her professor assigns a project to find a story to write about, and Sarah meets and writes about Kand'e, an exotic dancer in the LGBT community, and others who are struggling to overcome their past. As Sarah develops an intimate relationship with Kand'e, she starts to question her faith and her own identity.
