The Amityville horror began in November 1974 when Ronald DeFeo Jr. brutally murdered his family in their home, citing supernatural voices as the reason for his actions.
The eldest son of Ronald and Louise DeFeo, Ronald "Butch" DeFeo Jr., a troubled 23-year-old, murdered his parents and four siblings in their sleep at their home on 112 Ocean Avenue.
