Two American foreign aid workers, Amy and Sophie, become lost in the Caucasus Mountains and stumble upon a mysterious, isolated place that doesn't exist on any map. They soon discover that Sophie, a "fallen angel", is kidnapped by a man known as The Breeder, who abducts young women believed to be stained by sin. He takes Sophie to a former Soviet laboratory, where he intends to "purify" her by breaking her will and possessing her body.
