Manuel López-Vidal, a high-ranking Spanish politician, enjoys a luxurious lifestyle with his family. However, behind his public image, he is a corrupt and crooked individual who has used his position to embezzle foreign aid and engage in illegal activities with his friends. When one of his friends is arrested for fraud and corruption, Manuel tries to silence him and the others, but his own recorded conversations are leaked to the press, exposing his corruption. As the party closes ranks to protect itself, Manuel becomes paranoid, convinced that there is a traitor among his allies. Desperate, he makes a deal with a young politician to help him find evidence to clear his name and avoid jail.
