A young baby with a purple birthmark is the rightful King of England, but the throne has been taken over by the evil King Roderick I. A group of rebels, led by the Black Fox, plan to restore the true King to power, but they need the King's key to a secret tunnel to do so. To get the key, they disguise one of their own, Hubert Hawkins, as the King's jester and send him to infiltrate the royal court. However, things become complicated when the King's daughter falls in love with Hawkins, the King falls for his guard Maid Jean, and a witch begins to use her magic to disrupt their plans.
