A charming nobleman with a hidden past secretly commands a notorious gang, teaming up with a group of aspiring outlaws.
The movie follows Stanlio and Ollio as they try to rob the notorious brigand Fra Diavolo, who turns out to be a master of disguise. After a series of mishaps, Diavolo takes them on as his retainers and they travel to the Tavern de Cucu to rob a wealthy lord and win the heart of a beautiful lady.
