A spirited elderly man moves in with his son and daughter-in-law in Chicago, but his presence becomes a nuisance to the couple. Despite this, he forms a bond with a young orphan boy and helps him find direction. The old man also finds companionship among elderly men in a nearby home. However, the boy's stepfather concocts a sinister plan that will disrupt the harmony.
