A struggling pharmacist, Johnny Quinlan, is recruited by a criminal underworld leader, Nifty Herman, to unwittingly cover up his illicit activities. However, after being caught with drugs planted on him by Herman, Quinlan must use his wits to convince a federal agent to let him set a trap to catch Herman in the act, leading to a surprising confession.
