The enigmatic "Starving Man" has been thrilling carnival-goers with his remarkable ability to subsist without sustenance for 70 days, but when a series of gruesome murders rocks the carnival, detectives must unravel the dark secrets behind the attraction to uncover the truth.

Pelham, a carnival barker, borrows money to help his son get a good education and organizes a show featuring a man attempting to break the world record for fasting. The event attracts a curious crowd, but when a murder occurs, suspicion falls on Pel and a bookie, and the real killer targets the fasting man.
