Angelo Roncalli, born in 1881, was known for his profound spirituality and extraordinary goodness from a young age. He became a priest after studying theology in Bergamo and Rome, and was recognized for his wide knowledge and willingness to sacrifice. He rose through the ranks, becoming a bishop, cardinal, and eventually a representative of the Church. After the death of Pius XII, Roncalli was chosen as the new pope, with Jesus whispering "Tu es Petrus" ("You are Peter!") to him, and he led the Church as Pope John XXIII from October 28, 1958.
