A wealthy man, Walter Stevens, is targeted by a serial killer known as "The Gorilla". The killer, who is actually a securities investigator, plans to murder Stevens and make it look like a robbery gone wrong. However, Stevens has set a trap for the killer, using his niece and her fiancé as decoys. As the night unfolds, the killer's plans are foiled, and he is caught by the butler, Peters.
