Barry Wilding, a globe-trotter, helps a woman named Julie Kenmore on a ship and becomes determined to find her in London. He inherits a large estate, "The Hawk's Nest", but is met with resistance from trespassers who have taken up residence. Julie appears and reveals she's living at the estate, and Barry must allow her and her father to stay for six months. Despite attacks and refusals of help from Scotland Yard, Barry continues to unravel the mystery surrounding his inheritance.
