Simon Geist, a man from a ordinary suburban home, fights against modern American popular culture, assisted by his girlfriend Darla. He starts a magazine, "The Next Big Thing", to criticize and mock upcoming celebrities, comedians, models, and musicians. As his mysterious plan unfolds, will he become the last big thing or be absorbed by the very industry he's rebelling against?
