In the movie, a notorious killer named Pecos is hired to run out of town a group oflaws out and gamblers who are causing trouble. However, Pecos is mistakenly killed on the way, and a stranger named Johnny Macklin is mistaken for him and made the new sheriff. As Johnny tries to clean up the town, he faces opposition from the gamblers and their leader, Brad Foster, who tries to kill him and take over the town. Despite the challenges, Johnny manages to defeat the outlaws and bring peace to the town, earning the respect and admiration of the townspeople, including the beautiful Judy Hartley.
