In the aftermath of Naples' liberation by the Allies in 1943, women face immense struggles as they make significant sacrifices to cope with the difficulties and uncertainty of their war-torn city.
Among the war's devastating casualties, impoverished mothers and daughters are forced into prostitution to survive. Three women - a virgin, a princess, and a U.S. Air Force pilot - find themselves trapped in a hell on earth amidst the backdrop of Mount Vesuvius.
