In 1992, the French government revisits crimes against humanity from WWII, prosecuting Nazi collaborators. Magistrate Annemarie Livi takes on the case of Pierre Brossard, a police officer who helped round up and execute Jews in 1944. Despite being sentenced to death, Brossard received a Presidential pardon and has been hiding ever since. Livi teams up with Colonel Roux to uncover the truth, but they soon realize that a powerful organization, possibly within the government, is working to protect Brossard. The Catholic church has also been aiding his escape, and Livi faces a daunting task in overcoming their influence.
