Vanessa Doyle, a former wedding planner, is launching a new business, Tying the Knot, a comprehensive guide to US weddings. Her big break comes when she's tasked with planning a wedding for a couple in just five weeks. The challenge lies in transforming the dilapidated Wedding Cottage in Stony Bridge, Vermont, into a beautiful wedding venue. The catch? The cottage has been closed for five years and the current owner, Evan Stanford, a successful sculptor, is hesitant to let Vanessa use it.
