Dr. Bill Crawford, on a hunting trip in Canada, is attacked by a bear and saved by his guide Joe Easter. Bill recovers at Joe's cabin, where he falls in love with Joe's wife Alverna. After completing a surgery, Bill decides to stay in Lost Lake and continue his practice. However, an epidemic breaks out and Bill sets out to find a serum, with Alverna following him.
