Jack's life spirals out of control after a seemingly harmless argument with his wife escalates into a real fight, leading to her departure. Meanwhile, he becomes the only witness to a bank robbery and decides to take a vacation in Reno to search for buried treasure and start a rabbit farm. However, the robbers also flee to Reno and bury their loot, which Jack coincidentally finds. His troubles multiply as he clashes with a deputy sheriff, a rough sailor, and a gun moll claiming to be his wife, all while his wife shows up demanding a divorce.
