In the frontier town of Elder, Sheriff Clay Hartley's son becomes embroiled with an outlaw gang led by Golden Rule Saloon owner Collins. When the sheriff discovers his son's involvement, he forms a posse to intercept the gang's plan to rob a stagecoach carrying gold dust. After a gunfight, a deputy is killed and Hartley's son is accused and sentenced to hang. With only hours to spare, Sheriff Hartley must clear his son's name with the help of Collins' step-daughter, Joan, who is secretly in love with Hartley's son.
