In a quiet English coastal town after World War II, 16-year-old Lynda navigates adolescence with her widowed father and younger sister. Due to her mother's untimely passing, Lynda has matured quickly and has a penchant for swearing. She seeks love in all the wrong places, much to her father's dismay. When her father's friend takes advantage of her and leaves her pregnant and alone, Lynda must find a way to break the cycle of self-destruction and confront the challenges of growing up.
