Two brothers, Jack and Pete, meet on the Rio Grande, Jack a Texas Ranger and Pete an outlaw. After Jack's death, Pete is falsely accused of smuggling and stealing a horse. Pete escapes and teams up with Mary Ryan to clear his name and avenge his brother's death. They uncover a smuggling operation and a bank robbery, revealing a web of deceit and corruption involving Pete's brother Steve and others.
