Bill Gannon, a former soldier, returns to Wyoming to reconnect with his rancher father Frank, only to find him turned outlaw. Despite his father's initial reluctance, Bill tries to help him overcome his cynicism and hatred, but Frank's plan to lead Bill away from his own outlaw life backfires. Frank's henchman, Blackie Jordan, discovers Bill's new job as a Wells Fargo stagecoach guard and plots to frame him for a killing, while also collaborating with the Sheriff to steal a large gold shipment. Bill's friends, Butch and Frank Gannon, must combine their efforts to clear Bill's name and save him from his father's outlaw ways.
