A U.S. Marshal, Dave Harmon, is sent to the territory of Yuma, where the law is unwelcome. Upon arrival, he encounters two drunks, and one of them pulls a gun on him, leading to a fatal shooting. Harmon is told that the man he killed is the brother of Arch King, a powerful man who rules by his own law. As tensions rise, Harmon must clear his name and uncover the truth behind the murder, all while dealing with his troubled past and the army's involvement.
