Aaron Toronto is a multi-talented professional with a wide range of credits in film, theater, music, and scriptwriting. He is the founder of Tarantula Entertainment, a company he established after gaining experience with various theater companies and film production companies.
Toronto's acting career has taken him to numerous film sets, including the indie comedy Super Sucker, in which he played an agent of the Americans Against the Sexual Abuse of Home Appliances. He has also worked with Jeff Daniels' Purple Rose Theatre and the Performance Network.
As a writer, Toronto is particularly interested in developing original screenplays and musicals. His company, Tarantula Entertainment, recently produced a script he co-wrote with his brother, Matthew Toronto, titled The Pact. The film won several awards, including Best of Festival and Best Narrative Feature Film at the South Dakota Film Festival.
Prior to The Pact, Tarantula Entertainment produced Toronto's short film script, Even Felons Fall, which has appeared in numerous film festivals and won a prestigious Gold Remi Award. His other writing projects include a screenplay titled Warrior Woman of the Black Hills, a full-length stage play titled The Miracle of Being, and a musical titled Group.
Toronto's music is featured on the pop album DSM, released by his band Damn Sexy Man. The band has performed around the country and recently appeared on the nationally syndicated Mitch Albom radio program. One of his songs, One By One, was used in the feature film Kalamazoo.
Throughout his career, Toronto has received numerous grants and secured investor financing for many of his artistic projects. He lives in Brookings, South Dakota with his wife, Emily Toronto, an opera singer, and their two young boys, Joseph and Isaac.
As the lead actor in The Pact, Toronto played the role of Ancel Fox and composed much of the music for the film. The Pact is scheduled to screen at various festivals throughout the coming year.
