Abed Abest is a multifaceted individual who has made a significant impact in the world of theatre, cinema, and architecture. Born in 1987 in Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan Province, Iran, Abed's journey began with a strong educational foundation, graduating from Mahshahr Azad University in architecture.
Initially, Abed's passion for the performing arts led him to engage in theatre as an actor and writer. He then transitioned to cinema, taking part in various projects and eventually making his mark as a writer and director. Abed's debut in the film industry came with his short film "I haven't seen Hossein since the day before yesterday" in 2012.
The following year, Abed took on the lead role in "Fish & Cat", directed by Shahram Mokri, which premiered at the prestigious Venice film festival. In 2014, Abed wrote and directed a medium-length film, "The Corner", which premiered at the Cairo international film festival. His debut feature film, "Simulation", premiered at Berlinale Forum and TIFF in 2017.
Abed has also performed as the lead actor in "Invasion", directed by Shahram Mokri, which premiered at the Berlinale Panorama section and Karlovy Vary 2018. His second feature film, "Killing the eunuch KHAN", is set to release in the future.
